Lavender Country: Queer Songwriter Night
In celebration of Melt Festival 2026, Some Folk and Black Bear Lodge present a special evening of original queer music. This night is a tribute to Lavender Country — the pioneering queer country band — and their spirit of joyous, unapologetic self-expression.
Four talented queer songwriters will take the stage: Fletcher Dunn, Mathilde Anne, Pearl Hart, and Stan. Each brings their unique voice and storytelling to the mic, weaving tales of love, identity, and resilience through melody and lyric. Expect an atmosphere that's intimate, heartfelt, and full of camaraderie — a night where everyone belongs.
As the event tagline goes: “Wakin’ up to say hip hip hooray — I’m glad I’m gay.” That’s the essence of Lavender Country — finding joy in being yourself, no matter what.
Whether you’re new to the scene or a seasoned fan of queer indie music, this night promises stirring performances and a welcoming space for all. Bring your curiosity, your heart, and maybe even your notebook — you might leave inspired to write your own tune.
Join us for an evening that celebrates diversity, creativity, and the power of song to connect us.
