Melt Festival

Melt Festival is an annual celebration of queer arts and culture staged across Magandjin/Brisbane, Australia. Born from its successful predecessor at Brisbane Powerhouse, Melt has grown into a city-wide showcase of LGBTQIA+ creativity, performance, sport, and community thought. With Brisbane set to host the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Melt positions itself as a vibrant cultural platform that spotlights local and international talent while fostering inclusivity and visibility.

Guided by the Melt Reference Group — a committee of queer leaders and artists — the festival champions diverse voices and innovative expressions across theatre, music, visual art, drag, cabaret, and more. Melt invites audiences to experience thought-provoking performances and joyful gatherings, all grounded in a spirit of collaboration and respect for First Nations land and custodianship.
