Pride Outside LGBTQIA+ Pickleball - Halloween Dress-Up Edition 🎃👻
Got a closet full of costumes and a craving for some light-hearted fun? Or maybe you just like the idea of pretending to be a pickle while smacking a ball around? Whatever your vibe, Pride Outside’s Halloween Dress-Up Pickleball is here to turn your spooky season into a sweaty, giggly, inclusive good time.
Set on the Gold Coast at Rebound Stadium — yes, it’s undercover, so no rain delays here — this is your invitation to don your most glittery, ghoulish, or gloriously ridiculous ensemble. A prize awaits the best-dressed player, and honestly, we’re rooting for someone to show up as a giant pickle. Or maybe a ghost. Or both?
This isn’t a lesson in pickleball — it’s a social hit. Whether you’re a seasoned server or still figuring out the rules (which, by the way, are mercifully simple), you’ll find a welcoming crowd ready to rally with you. No coaches. No pressure. Just vibes, volleys, and maybe a little friendly trash-talking.
How It Works
- Arrive 5–10 minutes early to grab a paddle — they’re free to borrow.
- 12pm: Warm up with a casual rally.
- 12:20pm: Grab your card — it tells you which court you’re on. Jacks and Jokers get a bye (yes, that’s intentional).
- 12:30pm: Games start — 11 minutes on, 4 minutes off to hydrate and chat.
- 6 players get a bye each round. Need a break? Let your host know — no questions asked.
After the Game
Stick around and head to Burleigh Town Hotel for drinks and chatter. Let the host know if you’re coming so they can book a table — no pressure, just good company.
Photos & Privacy
Group shots might happen — they’ll likely end up on Instagram or Facebook. But if you’d rather not be in them, just say the word. Your comfort matters more than the perfect shot.
Our Promise
This is a space for everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community. Come as you are, play with kindness, and help keep it warm, supportive, and judgment-free. No matter how you identify, you’re welcome here.
Important Reminder
Pride Outside is an all-volunteer group. We’re here to create a safe, fun social space — not to be your liability insurer. Bring your own health cover, know your limits, and play responsibly.
