20 Years of The Black Parade (MCR Night)
Marking two decades since the release of My Chemical Romance’s genre-defining rock opera, The Black Parade, this night is a heartfelt, glitter-drenched tribute to the album that soundtracked so many of our teenage years — and still echoes through LGBTQ+ nightlife today.
Hosted by the iconic Theresa Problem and featuring stunning performances from Winter Greene (Mx Burlesque Victoria 2025), Dorian Courtisan, and Abeloth Addams, each artist will bring their own flair to a track from The Black Parade and one wild card from another MCR album — think emotional ballads, chaotic anthems, and everything in between.
When the stage lights dim, the beats rise. DJ sets from Sunny Bonez and lmaochloe will keep the vibe electric with a curated mix of Black Parade deep cuts, other MCR bangers, and nostalgic 2000s emo-rock anthems. It’s a night for the misfits, the glitter kids, the ones who still scream along to 'Welcome to the Black Parade' in their cars.
Doors open at 9pm for a relaxed, friendly pre-show hour — perfect for catching up with friends, grabbing a drink, or just soaking in the vibes. Yes, there’ll be 2-for-$25 Vodka Redbulls all night — because some traditions are worth keeping.
Accessibility note: Pride of our Footscray is located on the first floor of a venue with no elevator. While we’re deeply sorry for the limited accessibility, we hope you’ll still join us in celebrating this milestone — and we’re committed to making future events more inclusive for all.
Let’s make this night unforgettable — come as you are, sing your heart out, and dance like no one’s watching (even though everyone is, and they’re cheering you on).
