Affirmation Station279 Lygon St, Brunswick East VIC 3057

Art Express for Teens, Workshop 1

Calling all trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse young artists aged 12–17: your creative sanctuary awaits. At Affirmation Station, you’ll find a warm, kind, and trusted space to paint, draw, sculpt, and connect — exactly as you are.

Facilitated by art therapist Tiger Salmon (they/them), each session begins with a gentle warm-up and reflective prompts like “What fills your cup?” or “What does support feel like for you?”. Whether you’re here to chat, create quietly, or share a laugh, you’re welcome to show up — tired, curious, joyful, or uncertain. This isn’t about perfection or performance — it’s about presence, play, and shared affirmation.

Art Express offers a pause from daily pressures — a place to explore feelings, share stories, and quietly transform alongside others who get it. Some days we talk about gender; other days, we simply make art side by side, building connection one brushstroke at a time.

Important for ages 12–15: Parent/guardian consent is required. You’ll need to provide their email address at registration — we’ll send them a one-time consent form that covers all future TGV workshops. Ages 16–17 can attend without consent.

This event is hosted by Transgender Victoria, the state’s leading trans-led organisation for advocacy, connection, and community support.

Free entry, consent form required for ages 12-15
