Art Express, October

This warm, inclusive, and affirming space is designed for transgender, gender diverse, and non-binary folks aged 16 and over to connect, create, and explore identity through art. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just curious about picking up a brush, this monthly drop-in class welcomes you with open arms and no pressure.

Guided by Tiger Salmon (they/them), a queer writer, artist, and Therapeutic Arts educator, each session blends gentle structure with room for personal expression. You’ll be invited to dive into creative prompts that encourage self-discovery, emotional release, and social connection — all in a safe, neurodivergent, POC, and all-abilities-friendly space.

What to expect:

  • Monthly art therapy activities — no prior experience needed
  • Guided exploration of identity, self-expression, and affirmation
  • Supportive, low-stakes environment for creative play
  • Peer connection with others who get it

Bring your curiosity — materials are provided. There’s no wrong way to make art here. Think of it less as art class, more as an affirming sanctuary with paintbrushes.

Organised by Transgender Victoria via their community hub, Affirmation Station, this event is part of a broader suite of programs designed to uplift, support, and celebrate TGD identities. Whether you’re looking for quiet reflection or lively chatter — or somewhere in between — you’ll find it here.

Got questions? Reach out to coordinator@tgv.org.au. No need to pre-register — just roll up and join in.
