Boot Scootin' + Bush Dance feat. Country Struts
Yeehaw, darlings — it's queer country chaos at Studio Take Care! Dust off those boots, tie on your bandanas, and get ready to two-step through the night with live tunes from Cousin Maya and the Family Band.
WHEN: Friday 24 July — 5:30pm till bedtime (yes, we mean it — dance ‘til you drop).
WHAT: Boot scootin’ meets bush dance, led by Country Struts. Think line dancing with glitter, y’all.
WHERE: Studio Take Care — 1 Pitt St, Brunswick VIC 3056. Queer. Sex-positive. Joyfully chaotic.
FREE entry, but bookings essential. We’ve got a bar serving everything from mocktails to moonshine, so hydrate (and maybe don’t). Live music kicks off at 7:30pm, boot scoot at 8pm — don’t be late, your boots are waiting.
OUR VALUES: Take Care is a safe, welcoming space built on love, self-expression, and community. We’re here to celebrate YOU — no matter how you dance, how you dress, or how you identify. Inclusivity isn’t a buzzword here — it’s a mission.
ACCESSIBILITY: Heads up — our upper level is stairs-only. We’re working on making things more wheelchair-friendly, and we’re sorry for the current limitations. The closest ramp-accessed tram stop? Nicholson St (stop 21 on the 96) — a 950m walk crossing 4 streets. Jewell Station is 1.7km away. Parking’s tight on Pitt St — try Loyola Ave for easier access (no street crossing needed). Bike racks? Yes — grab a lock and pedal on over.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Studio Take Care acknowledges the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation. Sovereignty never ceded — we pay the rent via paytherent.net.
