Clown Glam - Makeup Workshop - Melbourne

Clown Glam! It's so hot right now (as far as I'm concerned, we're always in fashion). Let's seize the zeitgeist and get our clown on but it FASHUN!

In this (in-person) small-group workshop, we'll play with the juxtaposition between fun, bright, and quirky clown shapes and elements and a stage-ready, long-lasting, glamorous showgirl face. Suitable for all genders and makeup abilities.

WHAT TO BRING - A list of makeup essentials will be provided a week before the workshop. A personal mirror will be required.

WHAT WE WILL WORK ON:

• How to put on a long-lasting clown-white base
• How to map out each element for the greatest effect on our very individual faces
• How to get colours to really POP
• Great blending techniques
• A smidge on the history of clown faces through the years
• An impactful but glamorous clown mug (face stamp)

IMPORTANT - This will not be a scary clown face. You can put your coulrophobia away; this is a scary-clown-free workshop. The face we will do together will be more of a Pierrot clown x Showgurl mashup.

ACCESSIBILITY - The studio is located up two flights of stairs and is not wheelchair-accessible. There will be a mix of seated tables and standing workstations. There will be a maximum of 10 participants plus the facilitator.

ABOUT POMME - A trained makeup artist, professional drag queen and cabaret/burlesque clown, Pomme has been painting herself into characters for so long that her face print collection can buy its own beers. With a passion for (and education in) clowning and a love of utilising makeup to enhance the power of performance, you’re in great hands!
