Congee Club x Thread: Celebrating Queer Asian Joy

Mark your calendars for a vibrant night of community, rhythm, and artistry as Congee Club and Thread join forces to mark their second birthdays at the eclectic space of Miscellania. Expect an immersive evening where mahjong tables buzz alongside craft stations, and Rainbow Chan’s cherished Lo Mai Chi workshop sets the tone for delicious, hands-on fun on the rooftop — complete with eats courtesy of MyNameChef.

As the night deepens, the dance floor ignites with a dynamic lineup of DJs and live acts. From 9pm onward, the energy swells with performances by the dazzling House of Sassy Savage and sonic waves spun by Rah, Mon Franco, DASHÉ, Sakidasumi (Live), Kurious Kat, and Smallfry. It’s a celebration that blends beats, movement, and storytelling — crafted for East, South, and Southeast Asian LGBTQIA+ folks to connect, unwind, and revel in identity.

Equally important is the heart behind the event. Fifty percent of profits are directed toward supporting vital causes: Mob Strong Fund, Incarcerated TGD Fund, and Rising Red Lantern — ensuring that celebration also means solidarity.

Accessibility note: This venue is not wheelchair accessible, but bathrooms are gender neutral and no strobing lights will be used. If you have specific needs or questions, reach out via email at hello@threadsounds.com.

We acknowledge this event unfolds on stolen land — paying respects to the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the traditional custodians, and committing to a space of zero tolerance for racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, or ableism. If anything feels unsafe, speak up — the team is here to support you.

Can’t swing the ticket? Drop a DM to Thread or Congee Club — they’re committed to keeping the party inclusive.
