Justice of the Peace Document Signing Centre @ Victorian Pride Centre
Need a document witnessed or certifying a copy? The Victorian Pride Centre hosts a free, inclusive community service every Saturday from 12pm to 4pm (excluding public holidays) — and it’s the only JP signing centre within 10km of Melbourne’s CBD that’s not located in a police station or courthouse.
This welcoming space is run by RVAHJ — a community-focused group whose JPs are trained to serve with care, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity. Whether you need to sign a statutory declaration, witness a contract, or certify a passport photo, this service is here for you — no judgment, no hurry, just helpful support.
Perfect for our LGBTQIA+ community, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex and queer folks — as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people of colour, people living with disability, refugees, asylum seekers, multicultural and multifaith communities. Accessibility is built in: the space is wheelchair accessible, and we encourage you to bring along any support person you may need.
Bring your documents, your questions, and your calm — and rest easy knowing your paperwork will be handled with dignity. No appointment needed, just drop in during operating hours.
If you’d like to get involved, volunteer as a JP, or learn more about the service, feel free to reach out to the team at kathcooney21@gmail.com or call 0438 211 785. You can also visit their website at rvahj.org.au.
This is more than a paperwork stop — it’s an act of inclusion. A safe place for everyone. A space where your identity isn’t just accepted — it’s respected.
