Emerging Trans Researchers Conference 2026: Where Trans Brilliance Takes Center Stage
Forget the stuffy lecture halls — this is your digital queer academic revolution. The Trans Health Research Group and Australian Research Consortium for Trans Youth and Children are throwing down the gauntlet for trans and gender diverse scholars, and you’re invited to the party.
Running from 12.30 pm to 4.30 pm AEDT (that’s midnight in some parts of the world, so bring your coffee), this online Zoom bonanza is your safe space to celebrate, learn, and connect with fellow trans researchers across Australia and beyond. No awkward small talk, no gatekeeping — just 4 hours of radical knowledge sharing, presentation polish, and community building. All for FREE.
✨ Why you’ll want to be there:
• Amplify trans and gender diverse voices in research — no more being silenced.
• Sharpen your presentation skills with peer feedback and mentorship.
• Forge real connections with trans researchers who get you — no performative allyship required.
• Accessibility? We got you: auto-captions, a strict code of conduct, and ZERO recordings to protect your safety.
Presenters? All trans and gender diverse. The audience? Everyone from doctors to community workers, trans folks, and their supportive friends and fam. You’ll have a chat function to ask questions — no awkward mic-hogging or trolling allowed. (Seriously, behave or you’re out.)
Want to showcase your research? Submit your abstract by 31 July 2026. Questions? Slide into Dr Sav Zwickl’s DMs at transform-research@unimelb.edu.au. Don’t miss the conference that’s rewriting the rules of academic spaces — one trans voice at a time.
