Victorian Premiere: Heightened Scrutiny

Get ready for a powerful documentary that dives deep into the heart of transgender rights and justice in the United States. From the brilliant mind of director Sam Feder and the team that brought you Disclosure, this compelling film follows ACLU attorney Chase Strangio as he navigates both the Supreme Court and the complex landscape of public opinion.

In this vital 85-minute journey, we witness the intersection of legal battles and media narratives that continue to shape one of today's most pressing civil rights issues. As Chase eloquently states, "We will build beautiful spaces; we will claim collective love; we will unrelentingly stand up for each other. Take away our rights but you won't take away my fight."

This screening includes the powerful short film Sistahood: A Story of Strength directed by Jessica R. Chaney, which explores how Black Trans women in Memphis find hope and empowerment through My Sistah's House—a sanctuary of support and community strength.
