Looking to expand your circle in a relaxed, inclusive space? Join us for a solo-friendly afternoon of connection, laughter, and light-hearted fun in Northcote.

Hosted by Ben, a mental health professional with a warm and grounded style, this event is designed for LGBT+ adults aged 18+ who want to meet new people without the pressure of a crowded nightclub. Whether you’re new to Melbourne, re-entering social life, or just craving genuine connection, you’ll find your people here.

Activities kick off on The Deck — a sunlit, open-air space perfect for casual conversation. We’ll start with small-group speed friending, offering structured prompts to help you spark conversations without awkward silences. No pressure to perform — just show up as you are.

After the icebreakers, you’re free to wander to the arcade, grab a bite from local food trucks, or chat over a drink at the bar. Optional tabletop games are available for those who want a bit more engagement — think cooperative board games or lighthearted card games that encourage teamwork and laughter.

Every attendee receives a name tag to spark easy conversations. And if you’d like to connect before the event, we’ll send you an invitation to a private WhatsApp group — just be sure to book by Thursday, November 19.

We’re proudly hosted by Welcome to Thornbury, a cozy venue with character and charm, located just off High Street. While the space isn’t a traditional queer hangout, we’ve made it ours for this afternoon — a safe, welcoming corner for community building and real connection.

Tickets are A$7.66, which includes your name tag, speed friending session, optional games, and access to food, drinks, and the arcade. No refunds, so if your plans change, please let us know as early as possible so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist.
