Midsumma Pride March

Join the vibrant, joyous, and unapologetically queer celebration as Melbourne’s LGBTQIA+ community takes to the streets for the Midsumma Pride March. Starting at 10:30am from Fitzroy Street and winding through St Kilda to Catani Gardens, this is more than a march — it’s a statement of pride, unity, and visibility.

First organized by Midsumma in 2015, the march has grown into one of the festival’s most beloved and significant events. The day kicks off with the thunderous roar of Dykes on Bikes — a tradition that signals the start of the march with power, freedom, and style.

After the march, the party continues at Catani Gardens with live music, food stalls, and family-friendly activities. Whether you’re waving a rainbow flag, marching with your chosen family, or simply cheering from the sidelines, this is your day to celebrate love, identity, and community — no ticket required.

What to Expect

  • Live music featuring DJs Stevie Ellis and Tanzer
  • Post-march celebration at Catani Gardens with food vendors
  • Family-friendly zone — welcome to all ages
  • Accessibility services: Auslan interpretation for official proceedings, wheelchair-accessible routes, and audio description available
  • Rainbow Recharge Hub at Victorian Pride Centre — a quiet space to rest and recharge
  • Pets are permitted but not recommended due to warm weather
  • No BYO alcohol — enjoy curated drinks and treats from vendors

Midsumma Pride March isn’t just an event — it’s a tradition, a statement, and a celebration. Let’s march together, loud and proud, under the summer sun.
