Nomads Wednesday Cycling - 3rd Wed each month
Join the Nomads Wednesday cyclists for a relaxed and social ride around metro Melbourne or sometimes into Regional Victoria. Perfect for those who enjoy cycling and have Wednesdays free â you're welcome to hop on a bike and meet some friendly faces along the way.
These rides typically range from 30 to 50 km, with options to extend or shorten the route depending on your preference. The emphasis here is on camaraderie and fun, not speed records â it's about exploring beautiful trails, enjoying the outdoors, and connecting with fellow riders over a coffee or lunch stop.
All rides start around 10:30 am to avoid peak-hour train travel with bikes. Youâll often meet near a cafe where you can grab a warm drink before pedaling off. Lunch is usually enjoyed at a local pub or cafe, though occasional routes might require a picnic â details will be clearly noted if this is the case.
Upcoming ride details are emailed to everyone on the Wednesday Cyclists Mailing List, usually Monday evening â that way, the route can be chosen to match the weather forecast. You can also find the latest info in the Archive - Wednesday Bike Rides document.
If youâre unsure whether your fitness level matches the groupâs pace, feel free to reach out to Chris Stewart at LeaderChrisS@nomads.org.au â heâs happy to help you plan your first ride.
Want to join the mailing list? Click âGet Ticketsâ on this page once (set to 1 ticket, follow prompts to provide your contact info). Youâll receive emails each Monday about the upcoming Wednesdayâs ride. To opt out later, just email Chris.
If you plan to ride, add your name to the Wednesday Attendees spreadsheet the day prior â first name plus first letter of surname is fine. If you have trouble, just reply to the email or email LeaderChrisS@nomads.org.au.
Cost? Itâs free â no fees, no fuss. After 5 or more rides, youâll be invited to become a Nomads member.
