Queer By Nature: Rest & Nest — Winter’s Quiet Queer Rebellion
Let’s be real: winter isn’t a season, it’s a vibe. And this month, Queer By Nature is inviting you to swap hustle for hibernation, noise for nest, and chaos for calm — all in nature’s gentle embrace. Forget burnout. This is soul-rescue.
Set at the lush Darebin Parklands in Alphington, this 2-hour nature-based creative workshop is your soft landing pad for the LGBTQIA+ soul. We’ll meander, meditate, and make nests — yes, actual nests — using earthy materials provided. Think of it as a slow rebellion against productivity culture, where resting is revolutionary, and nesting is an act of queer self-love.
What’s on the agenda?
- A warm, unhurried welcome — grounding you into why rest is genius, not laziness.
- A guided saunter through the parklands, noticing how winter moves in the natural world (spoiler: it’s wise as hell).
- Building your own nest — no art skills required, just heart and hands.
- A gentle closing circle — optional, inclusive, no pressure.
- Wander free afterwards — if your soul needs more green.
This is for you if: you’re running on fumes, craving permission to slow down, curious about nature-based healing, or want queer community that doesn’t ask you to perform. Neuro-affirming. Trauma-aware. Invitational always.
