Trans Family Picnic 2026: Celebrating Trans Parents & Kids!

Come together for a joyful, affirming picnic designed for trans, gender diverse, and non-binary parents and families with kids under 18. Hosted by Transgender Victoria and Transcend, this is a safe, welcoming space to connect, laugh, and play alongside others who understand your journey.

Bring your picnic rug, snacks, and chairs — we’ll provide light refreshments and fun games for kids. Rainbow Community Angels will be on hand to ensure everyone feels supported and uplifted throughout the afternoon. This is a drug-free, alcohol-free, and vape-free environment, focused on warmth, connection, and celebration.

The exact location in central Melbourne will be emailed one week before the event. In case of bad weather, we’ve got a cozy indoor backup venue just a short walk away — you’ll be notified via email if plans change.

Whether you’re a trans parent, caregiver, or family member of a trans child, this picnic is for you. Staff from both organisations will be there to help everyone mingle and feel at home. Remember — you’re responsible for your young people on the day.
