Trans Life Drawing with Elias Youssef, September
Calling all artists, beginners and seasoned drawers alike — this one’s for you. Elias Youssef (they/he), a Naarm-based creator working across oil painting, digital illustration, and tattoo art, is hosting a nurturing, trans-led life drawing session at Affirmation Station. This is not your average art class — it’s a space for queer, trans, and nonbinary people to connect, create, and see themselves reflected in the art they make.
Models for this session represent a beautiful diversity of bodies — a rare opportunity to draw figures that are so often sidelined in traditional life drawing environments. Elias begins with a brief introduction, then guides you through the session with warm, hands-on feedback. Whether you’re sketching with charcoal or just starting with pencil, you’ll leave with new skills and maybe even a piece you’re proud of.
All art supplies are provided — no need to bring anything but your curiosity and good vibes. A small $5 refundable deposit applies; you’ll get it back if you attend or cancel more than 2 days in advance. If the fee’s a barrier, reach out to coordinator@tgv.org.au — they’ve got you covered.
We’re also committed to keeping everyone safe and comfortable: free N95/K94 masks, hand sanitizer, air purification, and good airflow are all part of the setup. Feel like you might be coming down with something? Please stay home and cancel your booking. Your community’s counting on your care.
Ready to draw something meaningful? This is your invitation to sit, sketch, and celebrate the beauty of diverse bodies — together.
