Exhibition, Curator Talk and City Walking Tour

Step into a fascinating exploration of Melbourne's queer history through the lens of 1960s aerial photography at the City Gallery. This unique exhibition, curated by the talented Angela Bailey, offers a fresh perspective on our city's LGBTQIA+ heritage.

The exhibition 'You Are Here: Melbourne Memory-scapes' features striking black-and-white aerial photographs from the 1960s, originally used for mapping and surveying. These remarkable images are presented alongside contemporary works, including powerful text pieces by Wergaia/Wemba poet Susie Anderson, creating an engaging dialogue between past and present.

Don't miss the special curator-led tour on January 31st, where Angela Bailey will guide you through the exhibition before leading an enlightening queer history walk through Melbourne's streets. Angela brings a wealth of experience as a curator, photographer, and creative producer, with her work featured in numerous public collections.

The exhibition runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, offering plenty of opportunities to explore these fascinating memory-scapes. The curator talk and walking tour takes place on January 31st from 2pm to 3:30pm.
