Awabakal Reserve Wildflower Walk | Dudley to Redhead with Coffee
Join us for a serene, sun-dappled morning wandering through the enchanting Awabakal Nature Reserve — your gateway to wildflower-strewn heathland, sweeping coastal views, and the gentle rhythm of a coastal forest. This isn’t just a walk; it’s a slow, soul-filling invitation to breathe, notice, and connect — with nature, with neighbours, and with yourself.
We’ll start at the Beach Road bus stop near Steel Street, Redhead, hop on the No 48 bus to Ocean Street, Dudley, and meander into the reserve — winding beneath towering red gums before emerging onto sunlit heathland. Our path traces the cliffs, culminating at the breathtaking Awabakal Viewpoint and Collier Street overlooks, with views across Redhead’s shoreline that will stick with you for weeks.
After about 3.5km of gentle steps and uneven terrain (with a few steeper sections, suitable for confident walkers), we’ll reward our efforts with coffee and conversation at The Villa Café. Then, stretch your legs a bit more with a final amble across the wetland boardwalk to the beach — perfect for that post-walk salt-spray reset.
Don’t forget your walking shoes, water, and a camera. Whether you’re here for the wildflowers, the coastline, or just a lovely way to start your Saturday — you’re welcome.
