Australian Pup & Handler Competition 2026: Boorloo/Perth Edition

Welcome to the seventh edition of the Australian Pup & Handler Competition (APHC), returning to Boorloo/Perth after the 2023 West Coast run. This national celebration honors the heart, joy, and deep bonds of our community — from pups and handlers to pandlers and supporters. It’s more than a title — it’s a weekend of visibility, connection, and playful pride.

Whether you’re stepping on stage for the titles of Australian Puppy 2026 or Australian Handler 2026, or cheering from the sidelines, you’re part of a legacy that celebrates authenticity, community spirit, and joyful self-expression.

What’s on?

• Contestant Briefing (Virtual)
• Judge & Contestant Mixer at Hyde Park Hotel
• Meet & Sniff — the official welcome event with drinks and mingling
• Interviews at Perth Pride Centre
• Tech Rehearsals and Main Stage Competition at Connections Nightclub
• Optional fun: Market Hall, Workshops & Panel, Victory Party, Walkies, Sunday Sundowner, and Kennel Club X at Perth Steamworks

Each contestant will be judged across four categories: Community Engagement (125 pts), Interview (300 pts), Speech (250 pts), and Fantasy/Play Presentation (125 pts). Competitors must achieve a minimum of 60% of total points to be eligible for a title.

The competition adheres to a strict Code of Conduct for contestants and titleholders — covering respect, inclusion, boundaries, consent, and online behavior — to ensure a safe, vibrant, and welcoming space for all.
