5 Moons @ MCA
Calling all LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and disabled creatives — this is your invitation to slow down, connect, and express yourself at a specially designed afternoon at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Designed in collaboration with Affirming Access Inc., this inclusive event pairs a guided gallery tour with a hands-on art workshop, all inspired by Philippe Parreno’s immersive exhibition 5 Moons. Whether you’ve never picked up a paintbrush or just want to explore art in a welcoming, low-pressure space — you’re welcome here.
Materials are provided, no experience needed. The space is mobility-accessible, and we’ve built in quiet zones and flexible pacing so you can engage at your own rhythm. Think of it as a creative pause — not a performance, not a competition, just a chance to be curious together.
This isn’t your typical gallery day. It’s a gentle celebration of difference, creativity, and community. Bring your whole self — your sensory sensitivities, your pace, your preferred way of being — and let the art meet you where you are.
Perfect for those who want to explore contemporary art in a space that’s affirming, accessible, and unapologetically queer. No RSVP required, but space is limited — so grab your spot early if you can.
Hosted by Affirming Access Inc., a community-led organisation championing inclusion in arts and culture for LGBTQIA+ and disabled audiences.
