Bears Walk: Whale Watching

Get ready to embrace the salt spray and spy some majestic marine giants on this epic Sunday adventure with Harbour City Bears. We're hitting the coast for one of Sydney’s most breathtaking natural spectacles — migrating whales gliding past the shoreline on their annual trek north. No binoculars? No worries. Just bring your awe and a camera (and maybe a windbreaker).
We’ll meet at Circular Quay at 10.30am sharp — don’t be late, or you’ll miss the ferry! Hop aboard the Watsons Bay ferry at 10.45am (wharf number TBA on the day — keep your eyes peeled and your Discord notifications ON). Once we dock, it’s time to stretch those bear paws on a leisurely walk packed with scenic whale-watching vantage points. You’ll have plenty of time to ooh, aah, and snap that perfect spout photo.
After soaking up the ocean vibes and maybe spotting a tail slap or two, we’ll wrap up with a delicious lunch at Watsons Bay — the perfect reward after a morning of nautical wonder. Pro tip: Bring a friend who doesn’t mind a little uneven terrain — stairs and cobblestones are part of the charm (but sadly not mobility-aid friendly).
Prefer to drive? No sweat. Our ferry arrives by 11.15am, so you can cruise in, grab a spot, and join us mid-whale-watching for the final stretch and lunch. We’ll be the crew in bear hugs and binoculars.
