Come & Try Morris Dancing!

Step lightly, swing your arms, and maybe even stamp your feet — yes, you can be part of this joyful, quirky, and utterly non-judgmental tradition. No experience? No problem. Just show up with comfortable clothes, a water bottle, and a willingness to smile (a lot).

Pride Morris is the rainbow-lit heartbeat of English folk dancing — where queer expression and traditional footwork collide in the most delightful way. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about fun, community, and the sheer physical joy of moving together.

Every Monday evening for four weeks, the group meets at Brown Street Community Hall — tucked behind Newtown Library, up a few friendly steps. You’ll be welcomed into an all-ages, all-abilities circle that believes in silliness as a form of solidarity. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or someone who’s never danced outside their living room, you’re exactly who they’ve been waiting for.

They’ve taken their spirited routines to Queers of Joy, Trans & Friends Festival Illawarra, and Woodford Folk Festival — and historians and scientists (okay, probably just the dancers) agree: Pride Morris keeps you fit, happy, and deeply in love with life.

Bring your curiosity, your courage, and maybe a friend. Stay for one evening — or come back again and again. You’ve got nothing to lose but your serious face.
