Fruits 30: Three Decades. Three Levels. One Big Night.
Thirty years ago, Fruits brought Sydney’s LGBTQIA+ business community and professionals together in one room — and we’ve been turning connections into possibilities ever since.
This year, to celebrate three full decades, the entire venue of Tribe@231 — all three gleaming levels — will be taken over for one unforgettable evening. Whether you’re a longtime regular or stepping in for the first time, this is the night to meet someone who changes your trajectory: a future client, a collaborator, a mentor, or even that person you didn’t know you needed to meet.
Fruits isn’t about flashy performances or dance floors that never stop spinning. It’s about the quiet hum of conversation, the clink of glasses, the warmth of new connections forming under good lighting and even better company. Canapés? Check. Drinks? Absolutely. Prizes? You bet. But the real reward? The people.
This is a night for business owners, team leaders, freelancers, creatives, community builders — really, anyone building something or looking to build something meaningful. Come alone, bring your crew, or drag your curious colleague. Fruits is set up to make mingling effortless.
From its humble 1996 start as Fruits in Suits at Sol Bar in Taylor Square, Fruits has become the longest-running LGBTQIA+ networking event in the Southern Hemisphere. Today, it’s not just a gathering — it’s a milestone, a movement, and a moment. And this year, we’re celebrating it exactly where we started: just around the corner from where it all began, in the heart of Oxford Street, at a proudly LGBTQIA+-owned venue.
Expect great conversations, familiar faces, and a few surprises. Because after 30 years? One thing still holds true: you never know who you’ll meet at Fruits — but you’ll always be glad you came.
