Sydney Queer Board Gamers and Allies — Inaugural Day Out
Grab your favorite board game — or just show up with curiosity — and dive into a day of strategy, laughter, and inclusive fun. This is the first gathering for Sydney’s queer gamers and allies to connect over shared nerd passions. Whether you’ve got a heavy Eurogame to teach or a silly party game to break the ice, you’re welcome here. No pressure to stay the whole time — pop in for a match, grab a snack nearby, and leave when you’re done.
The venue is fully accessible, with a clear path and wheelchair-friendly facilities. No food or drinks for sale onsite, but you’ll find cafes and supermarkets within walking distance. Bring your own snacks or grab something nearby — we’re all about making it easy and low-stakes to just show up.
There’s no cost to join this first event (though future ones may charge a small fee to cover venue space). You can also browse the shared games library — if there’s a title you’ve been itching to play, give the organiser a heads-up ahead of time via Aftergame. They might even add it to the list.
Code of Conduct
We keep it respectful and inclusive — no mocking, no gatekeeping, no harassment. If someone’s not behaving like a decent human, they’re out. This is a space for everyone to geek out happily without judgment. And yes, that includes folks who aren’t “hardcore” gamers — the only requirement is that you’re here to have fun and be kind.
