Darlinghurst Community Space277 Bourke St, Darlinghurst NSW 2010

Queer Meditation Sydney

Every Monday night (except public holidays and summer break), the Darlinghurst Community Space becomes a gently lit sanctuary for mindfulness, community, and quiet reflection — no experience required. Whether you’re new to meditation or just seeking a pause from the noise, this is a space to breathe, ground, and reconnect — with yourself and others who show up with open hearts.

The group rotates through a different meditation style each week — think guided visualizations, breathwork, body scans, silent sitting, or even walking meditations in the nearby park. The vibe? Warm, welcoming, and wonderfully unpretentious. No pressure to ‘do it right’ — just come as you are, sit as you can, and let the practice hold you.

What makes this more than a meditation class? The community. After the session, many participants head to the East Village Hotel nearby for a bite, a drink, or just a chat — no obligation, no expectations, just good company. The facilitators are volunteers who bring calm presence and gentle guidance, and there’s a ‘by donation’ jar for those who wish to contribute.

  • Weekly, every Monday — unless it’s a public holiday or summer break
  • No booking needed — just show up
  • Free to attend — donations welcome
  • Accessible space with clear pathways and an accessible toilet

Perfect if you’re feeling overwhelmed, need a reset, or want to build mindful habits in a supportive, queer-nurturing space. Think of it as a weekly reset button — gentle, grounding, and genuinely good for your soul.
