Meet at Circular Quay Wharf 5 by 10:30am, hop on the 10:47am ferry (tap on), and let the harbour breeze whisk you away to Cockatoo Island — a UNESCO World Heritage Site brimming with convict tales, naval legacy, and scenic waterfront cafés.

Explore five precincts that tell the island’s layered story:

• Industrial Precinct — where machinery met muscle
• Docks Precinct — once bustling with ships and sailors
• Historic Residence Precinct — quiet quarters of the past
• Ship Design Precinct — where blueprints became vessels
• Convict Precinct — gritty, honest, and hauntingly real

Walk through the Dog Leg Tunnel, built in 1915 and used as a wartime shelter. Stand atop the Cliff Top Walk and soak in panoramic views over Sydney Harbour — the city skyline glimmers just beyond the island’s edge, while convict silos whisper stories beneath your feet.

When hunger strikes, choose between Marina Cafe & Bar, with its laid-back pub charm, or Cockatoo Overboard just opposite the Visitor Centre. Both offer waterfront seating, local bites, and cold drinks under open skies.

Return ferries shuttle every 20 minutes, making it easy to drift back to Circular Quay when you’re ready. Just remember to RSVP — so the team knows who’s coming, and can make sure your coffee’s ready when you arrive.
