Sydney Queer Board Gamers and Allies
Grab your favourite board game, bring your best game face, and join a friendly gathering of LGBTQIA+ folks and allies for a day of strategy, laughter, and camaraderie. Whether you’re into epic fantasy quests, quick party games, or brain-bending puzzles, you’re welcome here — no experience required, no gatekeeping allowed.
This isn’t just about rolling dice and moving pieces — it’s about building community. Use the Aftergame app to schedule games ahead of time or just show up and find a table. Feel free to arrive whenever suits your schedule — you don’t need to be there from 10am to 4pm. Just drop in, hang out, and play.
There’s a curated games library on-site (managed via Aftergame) — or suggest a game you’d like to see included. No food or drinks available onsite, but grab a coffee or snack from one of the local cafes and supermarkets nearby.
Code of Conduct
- Respect is non-negotiable. Rude or pushy behaviour? You’ll be asked to leave — politely, but firmly.
- This is a geek-positive, queer-positive space. Mock someone’s hobby or identity? You’re out. And remember — no one gets a pass on ‘not being geeky enough’ or ‘not queer enough’. This is for everyone.
- If someone’s making you uncomfortable — stalking, harassing, or otherwise — let us know. We’ll handle it.
Entrance is at 27a Hugo Street. The venue is wheelchair accessible with a clear path and accessible toilets. You’re here to have fun — so be kind, be yourself, and let the games begin.
