Victorian Premiere of Jimpa with Special Keynote

Join us for an extraordinary evening celebrating a landmark film by one of Australia's leading directors. Director Sophie Hyde (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) and Aud Mason-Hyde will present an exclusive festival keynote exploring Jimpa's origins and its deep community connections.

This powerful Australian queer film features Academy Award winner Olivia Colman and Golden Globe winner John Lithgow in a modern family story that bridges generations of LGBTQIA+ experiences. When Hannah (Colman) travels to Amsterdam with her teen Frances (Aud Mason-Hyde) to reconnect with her politically active father Jimpa (Lithgow), unexpected revelations and health challenges force the family to confront buried truths.

Presented in partnership with Thorne Harbour Health, this Victorian premiere promises to be a highlight of MQFF 2025. The film runs for 2 hours and 3 minutes and is rated Unclassified 15+.
